CENTURY 21 Affiliated Agent A “30 Under 30” Honoree

CENTURY 21 Affiliated’s Kel Svoboda has been honored as an addition to the REALTOR® Magazine “2014 30 Under 30 Class.” Each May/June, REALTOR® Magazine features 30 rising young stars in the real estate industry. Honorees in this year’s class of "30 Under 30" are hard-working young professionals that come from a diverse array of markets and real estate specialities. They put their customers first, and are champions for their communities.

Kel Svoboda, a Real Estate Agent and Team Leader out of the Milwaukee area, has demonstrated skill, success, creativity, and leadership in his career. He has been in the real estate business for nearly 10 years where he has also previously owned his own brokerage. Kel Svoboda joined the Century 21 Affiliated team in 2013 as a Regional Manager currently overseeing the DelafieldWauwatosa, and Oak Creek offices.

The application process to becoming a “30 Under 30” title-holder is no easy feat. Starting with a lengthy online application, Kel tells us, “I was holding my 2 month old daughter in one hand and typing the online application with the other at midnight, when it was due.” Kel then completed a phone interview where he was chosen as part of the 50 finalists. He then had to wait over a month to find out whether he would be featured in the June issue of REALTOR® Magazine as a 30 Under 30 class of 2014 title-holder.

“I found out the last night of the Century 21 Global Conference,” Kel explained. “Initially I was taken back, it did not resonate with me.” Becoming a “30 Under 30” honoree has been a goal of Kel’s since 2006.  In fact, he has kept the REALTOR® Magazine “30 Under 30 Class of 2007” issue as motivation. “I’ve worked so hard for this and now that I have it, now I want to pay it forward,” Kel says.

Kel is always finding ways to pay it forward and teaching others to do the same. “There’s not one person that hasn’t motivated me to be better,” Kel says. He enjoys working closely with other Century 21 Affiliated Agents by teaching classes on ways they can be “working smarter not harder.” He is particularly interested in technology and teaching Agents how to incorporate it into their everyday routine. Kel is a past chair of the Young Professional Network  Milwaukee Chapter and a founding chair of the Wisconsin Young Professional Network. As well as a board member of the Greater Milwaukee Association of REALTORS. He has also been heavily involved in non-profit organizations like Make a Difference Wisconsin, an agency with a mission to provide financial literacy programs and resources that empower students to make sound financial decisions, and Easter Seals, an organization offering a variety of services to help people with disabilities address life's challenges and achieve personal goals.

This new achievement has only given Kel more motivation to further his accomplishments. “This puts more pressure on me to go and achieve more goals,” Kel says. Century 21 Affiliated’s leadership has also contributed to Kel’s drive. “The values [President, Dan Kruse and CEO, Bill Kessler] have instilled within their company is what has drawn me to Century 21 Affiliated. They are a family oriented company which I find very important.”

Leadership and fellow agents cannot say enough good things about Kel and the contribution he has made since joining in 2013. “Kel has been a great addition to our team. He leads by example, and is always pushing his fellow agents to be better. This award is well deserved and I cannot wait to see what doors he opens up in the upcoming years,” says Dan Kruse, President of Century 21 Affiliated.

You'll have the opportunity to learn more about Kel in the “30 Under 30 Class of 2014” issue of REALTOR® Magazine this June!
