Will lenders consider your social media presence?

A communication from a mortgage lender predicts that bankers and mortgage lenders will be looking at the social media presence of applicants as well as their spending and credit history. What shows on Facebook and Twitter accounts could help determine the stability of prospective borrowers.

Social media relationships with friends and family could impact the application. Those that appear to be unstable and those without a respectable social media presence would be at a disadvantage.

Time will tell if this prediction becomes reality but it is not a foreign concept since the success of job applicants may already be impacted by their social media presence.

This is something I have been trying to explain to my Grand-children, and I think we all need to think very carefully about what we put on these social media sites, it can effect your personal life, your business life and now if you from getting  approved for loans.  Just remember what goes out that can always come back to haunt you. So lets take more care with what we post.

Have a great weekend.
