WARD 9 ANNUAL CLEAN UP DAY ON SATURDAY
AURORA - In an effort to inspire volunteerism and spruce up the streets this spring, Alderman Edward Bugg and businesses of Aurora's Ward 9 are inviting residents to join the efforts and clean up the streets this Saturday.

The annual "Clean Up the Streets" Day will be held on
Saturday, May 21 from 8:45 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
in the parking lot of Maciano's
2460 S. Eola Road

Volunteers will clean up Eola Road and adjacent business corridors. All participants will be provided with bags, pickers and hazard vests for the cleanup and scavenger hunt.

The event also includes an expired medication and vitamin collection booth, encouraging residents to keep our water supply clean by bringing old medications (not including inhalers or syringes) in a sealed bag for disposal.

Participants will enjoy breakfast sponsored by 7-11 and Big Apple Bagels and a volunteer lunch party sponsored by Papa Saverio's and Chick-fil-A.

Hundreds of prizes will be distributed and many vendor tables will be on site providing information.
In total, nearly 50 Aurora businesses are sponsoring this year's event.

Last year, more than 250 volunteers from homeowner's associations, schools, scout troupes and churches made Ward 9's "Clean Up the Streets" Day a great success.
