Both Midweek Farmers Markets Open This Week

The Aurora Farmers Market's midweek markets return this week with fresh local fruits and vegetables, meats, cheeses, breads and much more.

Aurora Farmers Market - West opens on Wednesday, July 8, 12:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.  at West Aurora Shopping Plaza, 1901 W. Galena Blvd., and will run at the same time every Wednesday through September 30. It features local produce, including just-picked sweet corn and juicy melons. New this season is Jones Packing with a wide selection of beef, chicken and pork products processed locally.  Other new vendors including Bettina's Coffee and Tea, Kelly's Dollar Baked Goods, Sweet Passion Soaps join longtime favorites Wurst Kitchen, Mona Lisa Wood-fired Pizza, Georgie's Hot Dogs, and Dick's Mini Donuts.

Aurora Farmers Market -East opens on Thursday, July 9, 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 701 S. Eola Rd., and will be open at the same time every Thursday through August 27. It features many new vendors offering the high quality goods and produce. Enjoy local Black Angus beef from Riskedal Farm, local and organic vegetables, herbs and plants from Six Generations and Kenny G's Organic Veggies, weekly CSA delivery from Belly Fire Farms; plus local honey, vegan handmade soaps, cloth diapers and more. In addition, keep the kids entertained with live music and face painting for a fun and relaxing shopping experience.

Both midweek markets complement the mainstay downtown Aurora Farmers Market, the oldest in the State of Illinois, which is open 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. every Saturday through October 17 at the Aurora Transportation Center, 233 N. Broadway Ave.

This year, all three of the markets offer even more great value with the Double Value LINK Program featuring up to $25 free to spend on eligible items. Shoppers are encouraged to stop by the Aurora Farmers Market tent located at each market to learn more about redeeming SNAP benefits and doubling grocery dollars every week.
