One of the worst things about living in a tiny house or apartment is the lack of storage space, says blogger Meghan Belnap.
Belnap offered these solutions to tiny spaces on RISMedia’s blog, Housecall.
- Purchase furniture that provides storage space, like a bed frame with drawers or an ottoman with a storage compartment. Belnap also suggests getting creative with shelving. Not only does shelving provide additional storage space, but it also creates decorative value.
- Consider an off-site storage unit to house seasonal items. Be sure to select a climate controlled facility to protect your items from extreme temperatures.
- Consider getting a Murphy Bed that that can store inside or a lofted bed. This will free up space during the day.
