The typical listing presentation can leave you overwhelmed. To get as much information as possible, as your agent these questions.
- "What did the last home you sold go for in this area?" This will give you an idea of the going rate in your area and reveal how familiar your agent is in the neighborhood’s home values.
- "How will you expose my home? And how will you follow up with leads?" Any good listing presentations will show how your home will be promoted online. But also make sure to see how your agent will follow up on leads. How quickly do they respond? How do they keep the lead engaged? And what type of information do they provide?
- "What’s your opinion on open houses?" Many agents believe open houses aren’t worth it, so ask your prospective agent if they’ll be holding any open houses on my property, and what will they do to make it worthwhile?
- "What can I do to help my home sell for a higher price?" Ask what enhancements would be worth your while regarding your selling price. Don’t invest money into renovations that don’t increase your selling price.
