Durand Real Estate Listings and Information

Durand, Michigan is famous for its unique 110-year-old historic Union Station that is one of the most photographed depot stations. Designed by Spier and Rohms, it was originally built in 1903 and helped shape the community. Eighteen months thereafter it was almost completely destroyed by fire and was rebuilt in 1905, but has become the focal point of Durand.

One of Durand’s most anticipated events is the annual “Railroad Days Festival” held the weekend after Mother’s Day. The Festival includes an Art Walk, carnival rides, live music, wine tasting, a 5k run/walk and numerous other activities that are family friendly.

The Parks and Recreation Department runs four parks and sponsors summer recreation activities, which are held at both Trumble and Optimist Parks. Pavilion rentals are available as well.

The Durand Area Schools, home of the Rail Roaders, has one high school, one middle school, two elementary schools, a pre-school and an online academic center. Community members are proud of their excellent school district.
