Facebook After Death

        Tech TipTuesday (6)

In weird Facebook news for the week, you can now assign a trusted acquaintance to run your Facebook after your death. Facebook unveiled this feature last week. Usually after someone has passed away, Facebook would just freeze the account, which angered some who wanted to be able to access their loved one’s page.

There isn’t a ton of usefulness in this new feature, but it is good to think about when it comes to your Facebook business page. Although it seems morbid, think about assigning your spouse, child, sibling, or good friend to this role and ask that if anything happens to you to make the announcement on your business page in a tactful way. This way your clients don’t assume they’ve abandoned you.

To choose a legacy contact to run your page:

Click on the down arrow in the upper right hand corner and click “Settings”

Click on “Security” and then “Legacy Contact”
