Want to cut back your utility bill?

Here are a few tips to help you save money on your monthly utility bills.  The average household spends about $100 per year to keep devices powered up that aren't even being used (such as cell phone chargers, computer monitors, printers, video games, cable boxes).    Use a smart power strip to reduce the flow of electricity to devices that are not being actively used.  Replace incandescent bulbs with LED light bulbs.  Get a smart shower head that senses when the water is hot and stops the flow until you are ready to get in. Plug your device into a new type of outlet that allows you to program and monitor their use remotely. Turn down the water heater ( just 10 degrees could save you $10 a month). And use a smart thermostat for your heating and cooling, and learn how to program it for your life style and schedule.  All this could save you $1,000 or more per year for a small investment on these energy-efficiency devices!!
