Millions of pets end up in shelters every year in North America.
Many never find homes and face euthanasia.
This weekend, Aurora Animal Care and Control (AACC),
along with animal shelters across the country,
is collaborating with NBC and Telemundo stations
to find loving homes for pets in need during
the 2nd annual Clear the Shelters event.
The goal is to "clear the shelters" by finding forever homes
for as many animals as possible.
During last year's event, more than 20,000 pets
were adopted across the country in just one day!
