Neuqua Valley Dance Team Wins State Championship for Second Year in Row


For the second year in a row, Neuqua Valley’s competitive dance team has won the Class 3A state championship. Neuqua Valley claimed the 2016 title Saturday at the state competition in Bloomington.

”They are ecstatic, they are beside themselves,” Neuqua head coach Sonja Rzeszutko told the Naperville Sun. “Everyone here is an athlete, and everyone works hard to try to win, but it is really cool that they were able to do this again.”


Other local high schools also fared well at state. Waubonsie Valley placed sixth in the Class 3A competition while Aurora Central Catholic finished in fourth place in Class 1A, according to the IHSA website.
