The Marshall Riverwalk is a pedestrian trail that follows the route of the Kalamazoo River and is approximately three-quarters of a mile long. It’s a great trail for a leisure walk or a quick jog. Marshall's most visited park is Brooks Memorial Fountain Park and is located in the center of town. The fountain was built in 1930 by Harold Brooks and modeled after the Temple of Love in Versailles, France.

There is also a vibrant downtown with shopping and restaurants in Marshall. Several antique stores are located along Michigan Avenue, and larger stores are located near I-69. Schuler's is a favorite restaurant in Marshall and offers fine-dining experience in casual environment. Stagecoach Inn is also a popular eatery, known for its burgers. 

Marshall is home to Michigan's oldest fair, the Calhoun County Fair and boasts the oldest fair building in the state, Floral Hall. Here you will find One hundred year old oaks, 24 all-purpose buildings and one of the finest half-mile tracks in the state. There is also a 2,400-seat grandstand, new modern stage and entertainment center and camping facilities help make the fairground an excellent place to celebrate Michigan's oldest county fair and many other exciting events!  

There are five public schools in Marshall, as well as an alternative high school that has a “rich tradition of excellence.”
